An Apigee Lead is a senior technical expert responsible for designing, developing, and managing API proxies and security policies within the Google Apigee EdgeX platform. They oversee API lifecycle management, including security (OAuth 2.0, TLS), performance tuning, and CICD automation, often leading teams to deliver scalable, secure integration solutions.

Key Responsibilities and Skills

API Architecture Design: Creating robust, reusable API proxies, shared flows, and policies using Apigee.
Security Compliance: Implementing security protocols such as OAuth 2.0, JWT, SAML, and mTLS to protect APIs.
Platform Expertise: Deep knowledge of Apigee Edge, Hybrid, and X, including traffic management, analytics, and monetization.
Automation DevOps: Building CICD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions) for automated API deployment and management.
Technical Leadership: Mentoring developers, ensuring adherence to coding standards, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Troubleshooting Performance: Monitoring and optimizing API performance, addressing technical debt, and resolving complex runtime issues.

Common Requirements

Extensive experience with API management, often 10 years for senior roles.
Proficiency in JavaScript, Java, Node.js, and API specifications like Swagger/OpenAPI.
Experience with containerization (Kubernetes) and cloud-native deployments.
