A permanent full-time position has become available for an experienced Financial Accountant to join the Australian branch, reporting directly to the Managing Director and (functionally) to the Group CFO.

Key Responsibilities

Working closely with senior leadership (onshore and offshore), you will maintain financial reporting, forecasting and compliance of Australian operations, as well as overseeing a small administration team.

Financial Reporting & Compliance

  • Lead month-end and year-end processes including journals, accruals, reconciliations, and BAS.
  • Prepare financial reports (P&L and Balance Sheet) with analysis and insights.
  • Cashflow forecasting and annual budgeting.
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory, tax, and regulatory requirements.

Group Reporting

  • Deliver accurate weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reporting in line with the Group Financial Calendar.

Audit & Governance

  • Manage audit processes and relationships with external auditors and tax authorities.
  • Coordinate audit documentation and maintain statutory records and company registers.

Payroll, AR & AP

  • Oversee procurement activities and approve purchasing.
  • Weekly payroll processing and statutory reporting obligations (PAYG, FBT, payroll tax).
  • Oversee accounts receivable and payable, including credit control and collections.

Asset & Inventory Management

  • Maintain the fixed asset register and oversee asset lifecycle management.
  • Coordinate stocktakes and ensure accurate inventory valuation.
  • Manage company assets including vehicles and property.

Systems & Process Improvement

  • Oversee financial systems, including upgrades, troubleshooting, and system integrity.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reporting

Skills and Experience

To be considered for this opportunity, it is important that you demonstrate:

  • Qualifications and proven experience in an aligned accounting role within a commercial environment.
  • Solid understanding of financial management, reporting, and compliance frameworks.
  • Confidence working with financial and payroll system applications, with the ability to quickly adapt to new platforms.
  • High attention to detail and proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Confident communication (verbal and written) and stakeholder engagement skills.

Although the following skills are not essential, they will be well regarded:

  • Knowledge of IFRS.
  • Accounting experience in multinational companies.
  • Experience in FX (foreign exchange)/currency conversion an advantage).
  • Experience in Attache and/or SageX3.
  • Knowledge of CPM Talentia (reporting and consolidation system).
