The Account Manager Private Banking (AM PB) takes ownership of account administration, documentation formalities, and daily operational tasks impacting account administration. Unlike the Relationship Manager (RM), the AM PB does not have their own client book but collaborates closely with the RM and reaches out to clients where appropriate. The AM PB demonstrates excellent professional, personal, and social skills when liaising with clients and RMs, ensuring operational client account management and supporting the RM in implementing customized solutions. The AM PB acts as a role model by delivering the best service quality to clients, RMs, and Team Heads (THs) in a fast, professional, and friendly manner, living the Julius Baer values (Care, Passion, and Excellence).

Your Challenge

Client Administration & Management

  • Ensures accurate and high-quality client relationship documentation formalities are met and maintained at all times including client identification documentation (CDB), account opening forms, and other legal forms.
  • Actively ensures operational account management is undertaken professionally, clearing tasks/system alerts directly or via RM if investment advice is needed.
  • Participates in client meetings and leads parts of the meeting when appropriate.
  • Maintains client key data in liaison with RM to ensure CRM and other data sets are correct.
  • Interacts independently and professionally with clients in all aspects of account management.
  • Proactively supports RMs/TH in client relationship tasks with high quality, precision, and timely responsiveness.
  • Ensures operational coverage and client interaction within the team during absences.
  • Compiles presentations, drafts investment proposals, and supports marketing activities.
  • Creates and provides clients with customized information, reports, and statistics.
  • Manages RM/TH’s calendar, prepares client meetings, organizes business trips, and completes post processing of client calls, meetings, or trips.

Business Management

  • Manages internal projects impacting account relationships, solving administrative issues and maintaining systems and documentation.
  • Collects and shares relevant information, ideas, findings, and research to improve processes and increase productivity and quality.
  • Organizes work efficiently and compliantly and informs superiors timely and appropriately.
  • Conducts reviews, plans ahead, and documents own work at all times.
  • Provides professional input proposals for improvements based on experience or observations.
  • Manages the expense claim process for RMs/TH proactively.

Risk Management & Controls

  • Helps manage risk by raising concerns, following up on issues, and escalating when in doubt.
  • Ensures adherence to local regulations and compliance with internal policies and standards in collaboration with RMs and TH.
  • Ensures timely clearance of pending items and escalated deficiencies.
  • Ensures appropriate ethical and compliant behaviour in area of responsibility.
  • Ensures correct, meaningful, and understandable documentation of client interaction and orders in corresponding tools (e.g., CRM, DiAS).

Education & Experience

  • At least 5 years of experience as ARM or 3 years as ARM with a job related higher degree (e.g., Bachelor, CFA/AZEK/CAIA), excluding apprenticeship period.
  • Excellent language skills in German and English (verbal and written) according to specific market requirements.
  • Proven track record in servicing banking clients with complex needs including onboarding new clients and maintaining/extending current relationships.
  • Successful completion of the internal AM PB training programme.
