About the role
Job Summary
The Account Officer will support the finance team in managing daily accounting operations, ensuring accuracy in financial records, and maintaining compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements. The role requires strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
- Post transactions into accounting systems
- Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts
Accounts Payable & Receivable:
- Process invoices, payments, and expense reports
- Monitor receivables and follow up on outstanding payments
- Ensure timely payment of vendors and suppliers
Financial Reporting:
- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities
- Analyze financial data and highlight variances
Payroll & Expense Management:
- Support payroll processing and verification
- Track employee expenses and reimbursements
- Ensure proper documentation and approvals
Compliance & Audit Support:
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies
- Assist with internal and external audits
- Maintain proper documentation for audit trails
Inventory & Cost Tracking (Manufacturing Focus):
- Support inventory accounting and stock reconciliation
- Monitor cost of production and expenses
- Assist in cost control and waste reduction initiatives
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field with 1–3 years relevant accounting experience
- Professional certification (ICAN/ACCA – in view or part-qualified) is an added advantage
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus
