Role Objective
The Account Sales Executive (ASE) role is responsible for the strategic development and expansion of customer relationships in the telecommunications sector. The goal is sustainable business development through targeted sales measures, customer consulting, and implementation of account plans. The role includes extended responsibility for order intake and support of key figures for revenue and profitability. Joint development of the customer strategy with the Client Executive Partner and internal management of complex sales processes in the Telco environment.
Main Responsibilities
- Development and implementation of account growth strategies focusing on digital transformation and innovation in the Telco sector.
- Building and maintaining relationships at CxO level and stakeholder management across multiple decision-making levels.
- Responsibility for account plans including forecasting, pipeline management, and goal definition across multiple business units and partners.
- Identification and qualification of new sales opportunities and promotion of cross-selling and up-selling opportunities.
- Consultative Sales: Arguing the added value of technological solutions, determining the customer's investment priorities, and negotiating contracts to achieve optimal profitability.
- Balancing short-term sales, revenue, and margin requirements with ensuring high-quality and sustainable business.
- Creation of a stakeholder map, development of contact strategies, and coordination of additional business to promote further investments.
- Organization and execution of customer events and workshops to strengthen customer loyalty and unlock new business opportunities.
- Analysis of the customer's industry, their end customers, and competitors to identify innovation opportunities.
- Monitoring and systematic addressing of threats from competitors.
- Conducting contract negotiations with customers to develop and conclude advantageous contracts.
- Gathering and evaluating customer feedback for continuous improvement of offered solutions and services.
- Close collaboration with Client Executive Partner, Portfolio, Delivery, and Bid teams to ensure excellent execution.
Business KPIs
- Order intake and revenue development in the account
- Project and operational margins
- Free Cash Flow (incl. Billing Acceleration, Overdue Reduction)
- Customer satisfaction / Net Promoter Score
Requirements
Education & Experience
- Completed university degree (e.g., Business, IT, Engineering) or comparable qualification.
- Many years of successful sales experience in digital solutions and transformation services in the telecommunications sector.
Competencies
- Strategic and entrepreneurial thinking.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Leadership competence and team management.
- Industry and technology understanding in the Telco sector (focus OSS/BSS Know How, Telco Network / Core, Telco Cloud, RAN, 5G, Telco AI-Ops, autonomous networks, ODA) and projection onto a comprehensive IT service portfolio.
- Innovation capability and customer orientation.
- Fluent German and English skills.
- Willingness to travel nationally and internationally.
