ABOUT THE TEAM
Salesforce's Public Sector business unit specializes in delivering PaaS and SaaS solutions tailored for the U.S. Department of War. We empower military personnel and program offices to modernize their operations, expedite mission outcomes, and leverage AI effectively at various levels.
THE ROLE
We are seeking a Solution Engineer who can adeptly navigate the complex DoW ecosystem by engaging with military program offices and acquisition teams, as well as defense contractors. You will be the technical lead for intricate DoW projects, guiding discovery, architecting cloud solutions, developing proof-of-concept demonstrations, and overcoming technical obstacles to adoption. Proficiency in utilizing Agentic AI is essential, as you will also need to build innovative solutions.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Engage with DoW customers (combatant commands, military services, defense agencies) to understand mission needs and technical constraints.
- Align requirements with the Salesforce portfolio: Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, MuleSoft, Tableau, Agentforce, Data360, and Government Cloud Plus Defense.
- Design, create, and present customized demos and proof-of-concept solutions addressing DoW use cases, including HR, logistics, sustainment, investigation management, acquisition lifecycle, program management, and workforce operations.
- Architect and prototype Agentforce solutions tailored for DoW environments, focusing on agentic workflow design and compliance with data governance and security requirements.
- Communicate Salesforce's security posture and compliance details to technical evaluators, ISSOs, and program offices effectively.
- Assist in RFI/RFP responses by providing technical content, demo scenarios, and architecture documentation.
- Collaborate with Account Executives, Capture Managers, and Customer Success teams to drive pipeline and pursuit strategies.
- Create reusable POC assets and best-practice guides to enhance delivery efficiency across the DoW customer base.
- Convey Voice of the Customer insights to the Salesforce Product team and inform marketing plays.
WHAT YOU BRING
Required
- 7+ years of experience as a Solution or Sales Engineer in CRM, enterprise SaaS, or mission IT, preferably within the DoW or defense contracting sectors.
- Hands-on experience with Agentforce, Data Cloud, and the Salesforce Platform; proficient in prototyping workflows, automation, and data pipelines.
- Practical understanding of AI technologies, including LLMs and agentic system design.
- Ability to conduct deep technical discovery and MVP scoping, defining tangible use cases and success metrics.
- Familiarity with DoW compliance frameworks.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with stakeholders from technical staff to executives.
- Adept at working cross-functionally in a fast-paced team-selling environment while managing multiple projects.
- U.S. citizenship is required; ability to secure a DoW security clearance is preferred.
- Willingness to travel domestically, including visits to military installations and industry events.
Preferred
- Salesforce certifications: Administrator, Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Platform Developer, or Public Sector Solutions.
- Experience in Apex, Lightning Web Components, or similar engineering environments; familiarity with SQL or Python.
- Familiarity with agentic engineering tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, or Agentforce technologies.
- Experience with GovCloud, AWS GovCloud, or Azure Government environments.
EDUCATION
B.S. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS, or equivalent experience.
