About the role
Responsibilities:
Financial Operations:
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
• Manage accounts payable and receivable processes
• Perform regular bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
• Ensure proper documentation and filing of financial transactions
• Maintain and update the general ledger
Financial Reporting & Analysis:
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
• Analyze financial data and provide insights to management
• Track and report on key financial metrics and performance indicators
• Support variance analysis (budget vs actual performance)
Budgeting & Forecasting:
• Assist in the preparation and monitoring of budgets
• Support financial forecasting and planning processes
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and financial risks
Compliance & Audit:
• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and tax regulations
• Assist with internal and external audits
• Prepare necessary documentation for tax filings and regulatory requirements
Process Improvement & Support:
• Identify and recommend improvements to accounting processes and systems
• Support the implementation of financial controls and policies
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial accuracy
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years relevant accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar)
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, formulas)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Good understanding of tax and regulatory requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
• Professional certification, such as ICAN or ACCA (or in progress)
• Experience working in a fast-paced or growing organization
• Familiarity with ERP systems
