About the role
Role Summary
We are looking for a Accountant to manage financial reporting and tax preparation for a diverse client portfolio. The ideal candidate is a QuickBooks expert with experience in a CPA firm environment who can work independently to deliver high-quality financial insights.
Responsibilities
- Full-Cycle Accounting: Manage bank reconciliations and prepare monthly income statements and balance sheets using QuickBooks Online/Desktop.
- Tax Preparation: Prepare individual, business, and trust/estate tax returns; stay current on evolving tax legislation.
- Client Advisory: Interface directly with clients to gather data, review financial results, and discuss tax planning opportunities.
- Payroll & Compliance: Oversee payroll processing and ensure accurate federal/state tax filings.
Qualifications
- Expertise: Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks and professional tax software.
- Experience: Previous background in a Professional Services/CPA firm is preferred.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of complex tax research and payroll compliance.
- Credentials: Detail-oriented self-starter; CPA or EA candidates are a plus.
