About the role
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for all properties and real estate transactions.
- Prepare monthly and annual financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Handle accounts receivable and payable, including rent collections, contractor/vendor payments, and service charges.
- Monitor project budgets and track expenditures against real estate developments or renovations.
- Reconcile bank statements and ensure proper cash management for all company accounts.
- Prepare and file statutory returns such as VAT, PAYE, WHT, and corporate tax in compliance with Nigerian tax laws.
- Support the preparation for audits and liaise with external auditors and tax consultants.
- Work closely with property managers, legal officers, and sales agents to ensure accurate financial documentation and reporting.
- Utilise accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, or real estate ERPs) for bookkeeping and reporting.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline.
- ICAN/ACCA qualification (or part-qualified) is an added advantage.
- 2-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in the real estate, construction, or property management sector.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, or similar).
- Sound knowledge of Nigerian financial regulations, tax laws, and reporting standards.
- Strong attention to detail, organisational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with property development projects, rent roll management, and lease accounting.
- Understanding of service charge reconciliations and facilities management costing.
- Familiarity with the Lagos real estate market and regulatory environment.
Remuneration
NGN 150,000 - 250,000
