About the role
Introduction
An Agritalent client, a leading agribusiness, seeks a newly qualified Chartered Accountant who is ready to master financial management and, over time, transition to fulfil an operational leadership role.
Duties & Responsibilities
Accounting and financial management
- Prepare, monitor and manage departmental budgets, ensuring financial accuracy and compliance.
- Develop, implement and maintain robust financial controls, policies and procedures.
- Compile, analyse and interpret financial reports and statements.
- Lead audit preparation processes and liaise with external auditors.
- Track and optimise revenue streams in collaboration with the executive team.
Leadership development
- Gain exposure to broader business operations and organisational processes.
- Collaborate with senior leadership on operational and financial strategies.
- Participate in structured training and development programmes aimed at transitioning into a financial or operational management role.
Compliance and reporting
- Ensure all financial processes comply with regulatory and statutory requirements.
- Prepare clear and concise reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Support the compilation of board and executive committee presentations.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Qualifications and experience
- BCom honours in accounting or a related field.
- Recently qualified chartered accountant (CA), or awaiting APC results / near completion of the CA designation.
- Two to three years’ experience in financial services or a related environment (advantageous).
- Proficiency in Afrikaans and English (written and spoken).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant financial software.
