Accountant/Auditor 3

Nature of Work

• Performs full-performance level professional duties in general accounting, auditing, and financial analysis for the Division of Compliance and Monitoring within the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources, Office of Internal Control and Policy Development.
• Applies internal procedures to ensure that the OSA and its recipients of grant awards comply with applicable federal, state, and professional rules, regulations, and standards.
• Performs other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with at least 24 semester hours in accounting.
• Two (2) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in professional accounting, statutory accounting or auditing work.

Substitutions

• Master's degree in accounting may substitute for the required experience.
• Certification or registration as a Public Accountant in West Virginia may be substituted for the training and required experience.
• An additional one (1) year of experience in accounting, auditing, bookkeeping, and/or finance may substitute for the required accounting semester hours at the rate of one (1) year of experience for every thirty semester hours.
