Accounting Analyst / Budget Accountant

We are currently seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Analyst / Budget Accountant for an onsite opportunity in Newport News, VA. This role is ideal for candidates with strong accounting analysis, budgeting, and financial reporting experience, preferably within a healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform accounting analysis and financial reporting
• Prepare and analyze contractual adjustments, charity, and bad debt reporting
• Assist with annual budgets and cost analysis
• Prepare Federal, State, and Local tax-related reports
• Support Medicare and Medicaid cost reporting processes
• Interpret financial regulations and maintain compliance
• Conduct reconciliation and financial statement analysis
• Collaborate with leadership, auditors, and external agencies
• Recommend process improvements and support accounting operations

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business with Accounting concentration
• Minimum 1 year of accounting or financial analysis experience
• Strong Excel skills including Pivot Tables and advanced formulas
• Experience with budgeting, reconciliations, and financial statements
• Excellent analytical and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Healthcare accounting or finance experience
• Master’s Degree in related field
• CPA certification preferred
