The Roles

  • Typical Job Titles: Accountant, Financial Analyst, Internal Auditor, Financial Reporting, Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable, Corporate Development, Tax, Treasury, Risk Management & Controls, Controller, etc.
  • Experience Level: Entry level (suitable for recent University graduates with under 1 year of work experience) up to CFO level. Individual contributor roles and top leadership roles.
  • Employment Type: Contract (1 month to over 1 year) and permanent. Full-time or part-time.
  • Work Arrangements: Full-time in-office, hybrid, or fully remote. Entirely based in one location or with work travel.

The Candidates

  • Target Professionals: CPAs and CPA students. If you are a CPA member or plan to enroll with CPA-BC in the future, please reach out.
  • Desired Skills: Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), a strong work ethic, a professional and friendly demeanor, and a collaborative approach to work.
  • System Proficiency: Good system skills, particularly proficiency with Excel and familiarity with financial systems and/or ERPs.

Compensation

  • Potential Components: Performance-based bonus, RRSP match or pension plan, health/dental/vision benefits, paid time off over the minimum of 2 weeks’ vacation, annual health allowance, employee share purchase program, profit share program, employee discounts on products, transportation or transit subsidy.
  • Professional Development: Financial support for pursuing or maintaining CPA designation (annual membership fees and professional development courses).
  • Contract Roles: Compensation is normally a direct hourly rate plus 4% vacation pay.

Location

  • Primary Focus: Greater Vancouver.
  • Other Locations: Global companies with operations in BC, other parts of BC, across Canada, and occasionally in the US (most recently Washington, California, and Texas).
