About

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Accounting Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate is organized, comfortable working with numbers, and able to effectively communicate with vendors, drivers, and plant personnel. The role will primarily focus on coding and entering haul invoices, tracking stocked material quantities, and assisting with daily cash sale deposits.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the coding and processing of various invoices, including job haul and material delivery invoices, ensuring accurate and timely entry into the accounting system according to job cost and chart of accounts.
  • Track material deliveries (stone, liquid asphalt, etc.) verify against invoices.
  • Assist with preparing and making daily bank deposits, including logging and reconciling checks and cash.
  • Assist with reconciliation and posting of AR, credit card payments and cash receipts into the accounting system.
  • Maintain organized records of invoices, delivery tickets, and deposits, both digitally and in paper files.
  • Support the accounting department with other general clerical duties such as data entry, filing, and document scanning.
  • Provide support to accounting department for other processes during month end close.
  • Provide coverage of front desk during lunch breaks.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in accounting or business is a plus.
  • 2-3 years relevant experience preferred.
  • Experience in the construction industry is a plus..
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong organizational abilities with a keen eye for detail.
  • Proficiency in office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a dynamic work environment.
