About the role
ACCOUNTING CLERK
POSITION INFO:
The role includes processing financial transactions, maintaining accounting records, reconciling accounts, assisting with reporting requirements, and ensuring compliance with internal controls and company policies
The successful candidate must demonstrate strong attention to detail, confidentiality, organisational skills, and the ability to work within a fast-paced multi-company environment
Minimum requirements:
- Grade 12 / Matric (essential)
- Diploma or Certificate in Accounting, Bookkeeping, Finance (essential)
Required Experience:
- Minimum 2–5 years’ experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role
- Experience working in a multi-company or group environment will be advantageous
- Experience with reconciliations, accounts payable, and accounts receivable processes
- Exposure to month-end financial procedures preferred
Systems Experience (Advantageous)
Experience working on one or more of the following systems is essential:
- Sage
- Xero
- Pastel
- Microsoft Excel (Intermediate to Advanced)
Technical Skills:
- Sound understanding of accounting principles and bookkeeping procedures
- Experience working with accounting software packages
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Ability to process high volumes of transactions accurately
- Understanding of VAT and general financial compliance requirements
