The Student Accounting Clerk supports SAIT’s Finance Operations team with daily Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable tasks. Key responsibilities include preparing and reviewing external billing, following up on past-due collections, processing corporate refunds, peer-reviewing invoices, and reconciling accounts. The role also handles customer inquiries via FreshDesk and other communication channels. Working under close supervision, the Student Accounting Clerk ensures accurate and timely processing of student and customer accounts while following established procedures.

How You'll Contribute

Billing & Collection (55%)

  • Assist in preparing and issuing customer invoices under guidance.
  • Follow up on outstanding accounts based on established procedures.
  • Process corporate refunds with accuracy, following set protocols.

Invoice Review (20%)

  • Review and verify Accounts Payable invoices for accuracy and proper recording in Banner.

Inquiries (10%)

  • Respond to department and external inquiries through various communication channels.

Administrative Support (10%)

  • Provide general administrative support to the Finance Operations team.

Reconciliation (5%)

  • Perform account reconciliations for both customer and vendor accounts to ensure records are accurate and up to date.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled at SAIT in a diploma or degree program in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
  • Completion of introductory courses in accounting and finance is preferred.
  • Previous experience in administrative or customer service roles is an asset.
  • Experience using accounting software and spreadsheets (e.g., Microsoft Excel) is an advantage.
