About the role
ABOUT THE ROLE
Join the administrative team as the primary custodian of the Accounts Payable and Creditors function, ensuring financial accuracy while maintaining professional relationships with staff and external suppliers.
MAIN DUTIES
The successful candidate will manage all aspects of creditors and payables, including:
- Accounts Payable & Creditors Management: Capture and process creditor invoices according to approval protocols; prepare electronic payment batches and load them onto banking platforms; maintain clean ledgers through constant reconciliation; manage daily cashbook capturing.
- Audit & Financial Maintenance: Maintain accurate financial records and participate actively in year-end audit preparations to ensure a seamless external review.
- Communication & Query Resolution: Serve as the first point of contact for vendor and internal queries; resolve discrepancies professionally and maintain high documentation standards.
- Budget Control: Prepare annual budget templates, distribute them to holders, and provide monthly expenditure reports to ensure departmental transparency.
Work Environment
This is a strictly in-office position located in Somerset West.
- Hours: Monday – Friday 07:30 – 16:00.
REQUIREMENTS
Candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Education: Grade 12 / Matric (NQF4) is essential; a Certificate or Diploma in Accounting or Finance is highly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of five years of experience in a similar Accounts Payable role. Experience in an educational environment is advantageous.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint); working knowledge of Sage is a distinct advantage.
