Develop and implement data models to support business intelligence solutions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and ensure alignment on project objectives. Analyze and optimize existing data models for improved performance and efficiency. Provide technical guidance and support to team members in data modeling best practices. Monitor and report on project progress, ensuring timely delivery of milestones.

Role Purpose

The SAP BW Lead consultant will be responsible for leading the design, delivery and support of the client reporting requirement using SAP BW on HANA or SAP BW4HANA. The role requires extensive technical experience with team leadership and stakeholder engagement skills. Ensuring governance, high-quality analytics outcomes aligned with business strategy.

Key Responsibilities • Design, develop, and maintain SAP BW data models (Info Providers, ADSOs, Composite Providers, Info Objects) • Own solution architecture and ensure alignment with SAP best practices and enterprise standards • Develop and optimize ETL processes using BW transformations and DTPs • Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve data load and performance issues • Stakeholder & SLA Management • Work closely with business users to gather reporting and analytics requirements • Collaborate with functional teams like FI, CO, EAM, PS etc. for requirement gathering • Manage expectations, risks, dependencies, and escalations • Governance, Quality & Risk Management • Ensure delivery governance, documentation, and sign-off processes are followed • Oversee testing cycles (unit, SIT, UAT) and deployment activities • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and compliance with governance standards • Advise on transition strategies for SAP BW. Have knowledge of SAP BW roadmap strategy

Technical Skills • Strong hands-on experience with SAP BW or BW/4HANA • Solid understanding of SAP BW / BW/4HANA data modelling (aDSOs, Composite Providers, Queries) • Experience with SAP extractors, ODP, SLT, or flat file loads • Knowledge of ABAP routines and HANA Modelling

Functional Skills • Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and data modelling • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities • Knowledge of ABAP debugging (reading/debugging standard code)

Leadership & Soft Skills • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills • Delivery-focused with excellent problem-solving ability • Team leadership qualities

Experience • 10+ years of hands-on experience on SAP BW on HANA /SAP BW4HANA • 5 years’ experience as team lead • Delivered multiply full lifecycle implementations • worked on S4HANA data sources as well as non-SAP
