A reputable insurance company is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Actuarial Analyst to join their team in Zaria, Kaduna, NG. This role is pivotal in assessing financial risks, pricing insurance products, and ensuring the company's solvency and profitability. You will work with complex datasets, build predictive models, and provide crucial insights to support strategic decision-making. The successful candidate will have a strong foundation in mathematics, statistics, and actuarial science, coupled with excellent problem-solving skills. You will be expected to perform various analyses, including reserving, pricing, and financial projections.

Responsibilities

• Performing actuarial calculations for pricing new insurance products and reviewing existing ones.
• Developing and maintaining actuarial models for risk assessment and financial forecasting.
• Assisting in the estimation of insurance reserves and liabilities.
• Analyzing claims data to identify trends and inform risk management strategies.
• Preparing reports and presentations for management and regulatory bodies.
• Collaborating with underwriters, actuaries, and other departments to provide actuarial insights.
• Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and professional standards.
• Utilizing actuarial software and programming languages (e.g., R, Python, SQL) for data analysis.
• Staying updated on actuarial best practices and industry developments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
• Progress towards actuarial designations (e.g., SOA, CAS) is highly preferred.
• Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in statistical analysis and modeling.
• Experience with data analysis tools and programming languages is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A keen eye for detail and accuracy.
