About the role
Role Overview
The Guidelines Project Manager is responsible for leading and coordinating the development and production of Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPGs), ensuring full compliance with established procedures, timelines, and quality standards. The role requires close collaboration with internal teams, scientific experts, and external stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of high‑quality guideline documents. https://www.escardio.org/guidelines/clinical-practice-guidelines/
Key Responsibilities
More specifically, the role will involve:
- Managing all phases of CPG document development projects, including initiation, planning, launch, monitoring, control, and closure, leading to final publication.
- Working closely with internal and external stakeholders throughout the full project lifecycle.
- Providing operational and organisational support to CPG Committee members, task forces, and review panels.
- Contributing to cross‑functional projects within the ESC.
- Actively supporting the continuous improvement of the Clinical Practice Guidelines programme.
Profile
Hard Skills
- Bachelor’s to Master’s degree (Bac +3 to Bac +5) in Administration, Project Management, or a Scientific field; a scientific background is a strong advantage.
- Proven experience in managing projects from initiation to completion.
- Excellent written and spoken English (bilingual or near‑native level).
- Strong computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and willingness to adapt to new tools.
- Experience working with opinion leaders is an advantage.
- Experience as a scientific writer is an advantage.
- Knowledge of standards and best practices in scientific publishing is an asset (not mandatory).
- Familiarity with reference management software is an asset (not mandatory).
- Strong ability to rigorously apply procedures, policies, and regulations.
- Experience working with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and preparing scientific documents for publication is an asset.

- Strong attention to detail, focus, and absolute respect for confidentiality.
- Excellent organisational skills, flexibility, and adaptability, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
- Proven ability to prioritise effectively while maintaining high quality standards.

- Excellent interpersonal skills, enabling professional, respectful, and constructive interactions at all levels, including with volunteer contributors.
