Duties

This job posting serves as public notice. Applications submitted will be pooled for selection as positions become available, up to 6 months after the announcement’s closing date. Notifications regarding referral status may not be received until the eligibility period has elapsed. Selected candidates will work primarily on Artificial Intelligence-related tasks.

  • Provide technical leadership in designing, developing, testing, and maintaining Management Information (MI) and Business Intelligence (BI) applications.
  • Build and sustain complex ETL solutions and intricate database architectures using technologies such as SQL, PL/pgSQL, PostgreSQL (Greenplum), SQL Server, DB2, Oracle, Ab Initio, Linux shell scripting, Crontab, and mainframe JCL.
  • Communicate complex Business Intelligence concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Qualifications

To qualify for the 2210 IT Specialist series: Applicants must demonstrate IT-related competencies. Experience may come from paid or unpaid work, or through certifications. Key competencies include:

  • Attention to Detail: Demonstrate thoroughness and conscientiousness in work.
  • Customer Service: Engage with clients effectively to assess needs, offer assistance, and resolve issues.
  • Oral Communication: Effectively express ideas or facts with consideration of the audience.
  • Problem Solving: Identify issues and provide sound recommendations based on accurate information.

Specialized Experience

To qualify for this GS-14 position, candidates must have at least 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level. This includes:

  • Providing technical leadership in large-scale MI and BI projects.
  • Developing and maintaining complex ETL and database solutions.
  • Effectively communicating BI concepts to diverse audiences.

Education

This position does not have a specific educational requirement, and education cannot substitute for specialized experience.
