Summary Objective
The Manufacturing Engineering Automation Leader is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and deploying next-generation technologies that improve safety, quality, cost, and productivity across the manufacturing network. This role focuses on automation, robotics, digital manufacturing tools, and emerging technologies to enable long-term competitive advantage and operational excellence.
Essential Functions
- Develop and lead an enterprise-aligned manufacturing technology roadmap.
- Identify and evaluate emerging technologies including automation, robotics, and AI.
- Conduct benchmarking and build partnerships with suppliers and innovation ecosystems.
- Pilot and validate advanced manufacturing processes prior to deployment.
- Lead strategy and execution of capital equipment investments.
- Oversee equipment design, specification, selection, and commissioning.
- Drive standardization of advanced manufacturing capabilities.
- Ensure safe and seamless integration of new technologies into operations.
- Identify and deploy digital manufacturing and AI-driven solutions.
- Partner cross-functionally with operations, quality, supply chain, and engineering.
- Lead cross-functional teams to deliver automation and equipment projects.
- Establish advanced work methods and manufacturing standards.
- Support manufacturability and scalability for new product introductions.
- Develop long-term factory-of-the-future strategies.
- Build and mentor high-performing engineering and automation teams.
- Drive innovation, continuous improvement, and technical capability development.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position or does have supervisory responsibilities.
Work Location
This position will work out of our Main Office in Jacksonville, FL. This position is not approved for telecommuting or working remotely. Or where the employee will physically work.
Work Environment
Most work is performed in an office environment. Regular trips to SEA Fabrication Shop for observation and research are required.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit. The employee frequently is required to walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand. The employee must frequently lift or move objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move objects up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5pm
Travel
Anticipated up to 15% travel for this position. Some occasional local day travel may also be necessary. Occasional travel to customer job sites and conferences may be required.
Required Education and Experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Electrical or related).
- Proven experience leading technology transformations and capital equipment investments.
- Demonstrated success managing complex projects and improving manufacturing capability.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Advanced degree preferred.
- Experience with advanced automation, robotics, and digital manufacturing technologies strongly preferred.
Work Authorization
Must be authorized to work in the USA.
