The Role

We are seeking a meticulous Pharmacy Data Analyst to play a key role in analyzing extensive pharmacy and claims datasets. This position is crucial in generating insights and supporting data-driven decision-making across pharmacy operations and healthcare programs. You will manage pharmacy claims, validate prescriptions, and oversee healthcare data, particularly through Power BI reporting and dashboard creation.

Work You'll Do

  • Analyze pharmacy claims datasets to uncover trends, anomalies, and cost drivers.
  • Evaluate pharmacy benefit utilization, assessing unit cost and trend drivers, rebate impact, and 340B programs.
  • Collaborate with internal data and analytics teams to develop standardized processes and efficient data workflows.
  • Assist with pharmacy plan, client, and contract configuration through analytic reviews and claim outcome validations.
  • Ensure data quality and completeness while validating the reasonableness of results.
  • Manage pharmacovigilance data to meet regulatory compliance.
  • Oversee data management within EHR (Electronic Health Records) and Pharmacy Information Systems.
  • Design, develop, and maintain insightful Power BI dashboards and reports to track pharmacy operations, claims trends, compliance metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Lead pharmacy analytics initiatives from data intake to insight delivery, including stakeholder presentations.
  • Provide ongoing support for regulatory and compliance needs, including audits and reporting.
  • Coordinate project timelines, deliverables, and issue resolution across diverse teams.
  • Identify discrepancies between configured logic and paid claim outcomes.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in pharmacy data analysis, PBM, payer, or related healthcare roles.
  • Strong understanding of pharmacy claims management and payer processes.
  • Advanced proficiency in Power BI, including dashboard creation, DAX, data modeling, and Power BI Service.
  • Knowledge of pharmacovigilance data and relevant healthcare regulatory and compliance frameworks.
  • Ability to analyze data independently and articulate findings related to pharmacy KPIs.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills for engaging with internal teams and stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with significant drug compendia and databases like NCPDP and First Databank.
  • Understand claims logic and confirm the final status of claims.
  • Solid understanding of pharmacy claims data and critical concepts such as formularies, benefit designs, and reimbursement.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without need for employer sponsorship.

  • Based in Chicago, IL, and flexibility to work from our Chicago office as needed.

The estimated salary range for this position is $125,000 - $140,000, with additional eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus. AArete values each employee and considers various factors such as experience and certifications when determining compensation.
