About the Role
We are looking for a commercially minded, goal-oriented, and ambitious Media Sales Account Manager. This role is designed for a professional who thrives in a fast-paced, target-driven environment and possesses a natural ability to engage senior-level stakeholders. Core Responsibilities
This is a high-performance role. The successful candidate must demonstrate mastery in the following areas:
- Revenue Generation: Drive digital media revenue by selling integrated advertising solutions across multiple platforms.
- Strategic Relationship Management: Confidently engage C-level executives and agency directors to build long-term, value-driven partnerships.
- Business Development: Proactively identify, pursue, and close new revenue streams while maintaining a healthy sales pipeline.
- Bespoke Proposal Development: Independently craft professional, compelling, and strategic client proposals tailored to specific market positioning and budgets.
- Full Lifecycle Account Management: Own the entire process from prospecting and pitching to onboarding, campaign reporting, and upselling.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate with editorial and design teams to ensure seamless campaign execution and adherence to brand standards.
- Digital Proficiency: Conduct high-level virtual presentations and maintain rigorous CRM management for pipeline tracking.
- Brand Ambassadorship: Represent the organization at industry events, launches, and networking functions to generate fresh leads.
Requirements & Qualifications
The Must-Haves:
- Experience: Minimum 5+ years in B2B media sales with a verifiable track record of meeting or exceeding targets.
- Sector Knowledge: Experience working with corporates, SMMEs, ad agencies, and PR firms.
- Platform Expertise: Prior experience selling digital advertising specifically for newspaper or magazine platforms.
- Communication: Fluent in written and spoken English with exceptional negotiation and closing skills.
- Tools: Non-negotiable proficiency in CRM systems, Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and virtual meeting platforms (Zoom/Teams).
- Logistics: Must reside in Cape Town and possess a valid South African driver’s license.
