Position Responsibilities:

  • Manage accounts payable, overseeing every step from invoice entry to check issuance.
  • Handle accounts receivable by billing customer invoices and collecting payments.
  • Perform job costing specifically related to government contracts.
  • Maintain records of daily cash deposits.
  • Conduct monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Process payroll, including journal entries and updating vacation balances.
  • Carry out general ledger account reconciliations.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and forecast schedules.
  • Participate in the closing process and cycle.
  • Master the budgeting and forecasting processes by identifying areas of concern, such as indirect costs and variances.
  • Provide financial reporting as necessary.
  • Exhibit a working knowledge of indirect rates and basic pricing strategies.
  • Organize and uphold all vendor and accounting records.
  • Update and manage spreadsheets on a weekly basis.
  • Research inquiries and fulfill information requests.
  • Monitor cash flow in accordance with client needs.
  • Ensure timely deliverables and high client satisfaction for assigned accounts.
  • Deliver cost-effective, accurate, and compliant accounting services to clients.
  • Support and, if needed, train Junior Accountants.

Qualifications:

  • Must have experience with government contractors and familiarity with Unanet, CostPoint, or Quickbooks.
  • A minimum of 4-6 years of progressive accounting experience, with a strong grasp of general ledger, job costing, and GAAP compliance.
  • Highly organized with meticulous record-keeping and file management skills.
  • Able to juggle competing deliverables and complex tasks.
  • Exceptional communication and customer service abilities.
  • Proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, and other accounting software.
  • Understanding of Government contracting, including knowledge of the FAR and indirect rate structures.
  • A self-starter with strong problem-solving skills, capable of multitasking.
  • Must demonstrate high accuracy alongside excellent written and oral communication skills.

Salary: $60,000 - $75,000 per year

The listed salary range reflects a range in which your actual salary may fall. Circumstances may lead to an offer at either end of the range or beyond.
