Overview
The Agile Business Analyst is instrumental in driving agile software development and business transformation initiatives. This role actively engages with end users and stakeholders to gather, document, and manage software requirements that align with our organizational goals. Key activities include facilitating meetings, recording comprehensive notes, tracking actionable items, and maintaining accurate details within electronic tracking systems. With a solid background in information technology, software development, and consulting, the Agile Business Analyst is expected to manage scope and budget while adhering to high standards of quality and security. Utilizing their subject matter expertise, the incumbent will contribute to strategic planning, execution, and oversight of complex IT projects to achieve optimal outcomes for the organization.
Responsibilities
- Identify and analyze business needs, conduct requirements gathering, and define scope and objectives through various techniques, including work sessions and interviews.
- Document complex business requirements and processes; communicate these requirements to relevant parties, including the development team and business owners.
- Lead meetings with clients to gather and document requirements or explore potential solutions.
- Participate in technical reviews and inspections to ensure changes are implemented as intended throughout the project lifecycle.
- Create detailed test case scenarios for software testing; oversee and document the testing of business applications to ensure all client requirements are met in the system design.
- Provide expertise on continuous process improvement strategies, organizational redesign, change management projects, and performance measures for basic business process engagements.
- Facilitate regular progress meetings and updates for various departments.
- Deliver status updates to program management and clients regarding transitions.
- Utilize quantitative analysis methodologies to perform cost-benefit analyses and process measurement assessments.
- Research industry trends for best practices in process improvement techniques.
- Collaborate with business process owners and management on strategic initiatives.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
What You Need
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Technology, or a related field, with a solid foundation in IT principles and practices.
- Minimum of 2 years of proven experience in IT business analysis, including projects related to Networking.
- Proficiency in documenting requirements and experience working within Agile processes and tools such as MS Project and JIRA.
- Must possess Secret Security Clearance and the ability to obtain SCI access as required.
- Ability to pass a background check, with potential for additional checks as project and client needs arise.

- Proficient in MS Office Suite, including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Strong analytical skills, with a proven track record of driving teams towards excellence.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in consulting with a focus on a consulting-oriented company.
- Certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent is a plus.
- Prior involvement in software projects for the Department of State, National Security, or federal agencies, with an understanding of their operational environments and challenges.
- Familiarity with IT systems, protocols, and security measures employed by the Department of State.
- Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills with a history of successfully navigating complex situations.
- Background in computer science or a related technical field.

Pay Range
USD $120,000.00 - USD $135,000.00 /Yr.
