AI Automation Back End Developer

Your role in the team

• As an AI Automation Backend Developer, you shape the technical foundation of our projects. You develop highly efficient backend infrastructures and ensure that our architecture remains scalable and future‑proof. At the same time, you are the driving force for our AI‑Native Testing area: You use AI agents and smart scripting to proactively detect errors, setting new quality standards within our crew.

Responsibilities

• Development of new APIs with Spring & Kotlin and design of database solutions with MongoDB
• Conducting manual and automated software tests (Web & Mobile) and evaluation of AI agents for testing
• Automation of tests and setup of test environments using AI & scripting
• Careful implementation of new features, documentation in Swagger/OpenAPI, and deployment via CI/CD & Docker
• Continuous development of the testing process and internal QA standards
• Use of AI coding agents to optimize the developer experience and test coverage
• Close collaboration with the crew to ensure the highest code quality

What we offer

Your salary will be based on your qualifications and experience. Depending on your seniority, we offer a significant premium on top of the minimum salary stipulated in the collective agreement. Legal notice: The IT Collective Agreement (ST1) applies to this position. The minimum basic salary under the collective agreement for this position from mid‑level onwards is €3,954.00 gross per month (based on 14 payments per year).

Our expectations

Qualifications

• Sound knowledge of Kotlin and the Spring Framework
• Practical experience with AI tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor) and a passion for AI‑Native Testing
• Proficiency in QA structures, common testing practices, and automation tools
• High quality standards, attention to detail, and enthusiasm for software projects
• Communicative, team‑oriented, and fluent in German and English
• Fullstack spirit: Motivation to actively contribute on other platforms through the support of AI agents.

Experience

Nice to have

• Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, DigitalOcean) and CI/CD pipelines
• Experience using tools like Bruno, Postman, AppTester / Testflight
• Experience with tools like Bruno or Postman
• Basic knowledge of frontend frameworks (React / Next.js)

Education

• Background: Bachelor's degree (IT) or equivalent work experience
