Role Overview
Tyndale is looking for an Automation & AI Agent Engineer to design, build, deploy, and support intelligent automation solutions across Robotic Process Automation, Systems Integration, AI Agents, and Agentic AI solutions. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on improving business processes through scalable, reliable, production-ready automation.
Most of these solutions will be built using an iPaaS and automation platform such as Workato, Boomi, or Zapier. This role is intended for someone who is comfortable using those types of platforms as the primary way to develop automations, orchestrate workflows, connect systems, and enable AI-driven business processes. The focus is on practical delivery through configurable platforms and integrations, not on building everything from scratch in custom code.
This person will work across business and technical teams to identify automation opportunities, build solutions that connect systems and streamline work, and support the rollout of AI-driven capabilities that increase efficiency, accuracy, and speed. The role is focused on practical execution and measurable business value.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, test, deploy, and support automation solutions across RPA, systems integration, AI Agents, and Agentic AI workflows, primarily using an iPaaS or automation platform such as Workato, Boomi, or Zapier
- Use platform-based tools, connectors, APIs, webhooks, and workflow orchestration capabilities to deliver scalable business automations
- Partner with business stakeholders to understand current processes, identify pain points, and define high-value automation opportunities
- Build and maintain integrations across internal and third-party platforms using APIs, connectors, authentication, data mapping, and event-driven workflows
- Develop AI Agents and Agentic AI solutions within platform-based environments to retrieve context, execute tasks, orchestrate multi-step workflows, and involve human approvals when needed
- Create automations that improve cycle time, reduce manual effort, increase accuracy, and improve the overall member and customer experience
- Monitor automations and agent workflows in production, troubleshoot issues, resolve failures, and continuously improve performance and reliability
- Establish and follow standards for testing, deployment, logging, exception handling, documentation, access control, and governance
- Document technical designs, workflow logic, support procedures, and operational runbooks
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in automation engineering, integration engineering, RPA, business systems, software engineering, or a similar technical role
- Hands-on experience building and supporting automation solutions in an iPaaS, workflow automation, or integration platform environment
- Experience working with platforms such as Workato, Boomi, Zapier, or similar tools, and a strong understanding of how to use those platforms to design and deliver business automations
- Experience building and supporting automation solutions in more than one of the following areas: RPA, systems integration, AI Agents, or Agentic AI solutions
- Strong understanding of APIs, JSON, webhooks, authentication, system integrations, and workflow design
- Experience using Python, JavaScript, or similar scripting languages for custom logic, transformations, or automation support where platform-native capabilities are not sufficient
- Experience designing and deploying production-ready workflows with appropriate monitoring, controls, and support processes
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business needs into effective technical solutions
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical teams
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience building AI-enabled workflows that use prompts, tools, knowledge sources, approvals, and exception handling
- Experience with enterprise application environments involving ERP, CRM, HRIS, e-commerce, service management, or other business-critical platforms
- Experience with automation governance, auditability, security, and lifecycle management
