Associate AI Developer

The Opportunity

We're seeking an Associate AI Developer to join our team and drive rapid innovation through proof-of-concept development and AI tooling. In this hands-on role, you'll work at the intersection of AI and practical application, helping teams across the organization leverage cutting-edge AI capabilities to solve real problems.

What You'll Do

• Rapid Prototyping & POC Development Build and iterate on proof-of-concept applications that demonstrate AI capabilities and validate use cases. You'll move quickly from idea to working prototype, helping stakeholders understand what's possible and refining concepts based on feedback.
• AI Tooling & Integration Develop custom tools and integrations that make AI accessible to technical and non-technical teams alike. This includes building MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers that enable AI systems to interact with internal services, APIs, and data sources.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with product, engineering, and business teams to understand their needs and translate requirements into functional AI-powered solutions. You'll act as both a technical implementer and an AI consultant.
• Technical Evangelism Share knowledge about AI capabilities, best practices, and emerging technologies with the broader organization through documentation, demos, and hands-on support.

What We're Looking For

Required Skills & Experience

• 0-3 years of software development experience with strong programming fundamentals
• Proficiency in Python or TypeScript/JavaScript
• Experience with APIs, webhooks, and service integrations
• Familiarity with LLMs and AI/ML concepts
• Comfort with rapid iteration and working in ambiguous problem spaces
• Strong communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts clearly

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building with OpenAI, Anthropic, or other LLM APIs
• Knowledge of Model Context Protocol (MCP) or similar integration frameworks
• Background in building internal tools or developer platforms
• Experience with FastAPI, Express, or similar web frameworks
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure)
• Understanding of prompt engineering and LLM application patterns

In Your First 6 Months, You'll Have

• Delivered multiple POCs that informed product or process decisions
• Built and deployed MCP servers or similar integrations that teams actively use
• Established yourself as a go-to resource for AI implementation questions
• Contributed to internal documentation and best practices around AI development

Location:

This position will be hybrid in our Oakville, ON office.

Compensation Range:

$81,500 - $101,900
