Senior AI Developer

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior AI Developer to join our team on a contract basis in Toronto. This role focuses on designing and delivering advanced AI-driven solutions, leveraging modern Machine Learning (ML) techniques and Large Language Models (LLMs). You will play a key role in building scalable, production-grade systems that integrate AI capabilities into enterprise applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy AI/ML models, including LLM-based applications.
• Build and maintain scalable backend systems using Java and Spring Framework.
• Integrate AI/ML solutions into enterprise-grade applications and workflows.
• Fine-tune and optimize Large Language Models for domain-specific use cases.
• Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Develop APIs and microservices to expose AI capabilities.
• Ensure performance, scalability, and reliability of AI systems in production.
• Stay up to date with advancements in AI, ML, and LLM ecosystems.

Required Skills & Experience

• 7+ years of software development experience, with a strong focus on AI/ML.
• Proven experience working with Large Language Models (e.g., GPT, open-source LLMs).
• Strong programming skills in Java .
• Extensive experience with Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Microservices).
• Solid understanding of Machine Learning concepts and frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar).
• Experience with RESTful APIs, distributed systems, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Familiarity with prompt engineering, embeddings, and vector databases.
• Experience deploying AI models into production environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with generative AI applications and NLP.
• Knowledge of MLOps practices and tools.
• Experience with containerization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Background in data engineering or big data technologies.
