AI Developer/Engineer

We are seeking an experienced AI Engineer/Developer to play a lead technical role on a small, highly collaborative team focused on delivering practical AI applications. This role centers on building real, production systems that support everyday business work inside a mature organization.

You will work closely with an AI Applications Manager and business partners to shape ideas into reliable, deployable solutions. The role is hands on and ownership driven, with responsibility for technical decisions, build quality, and long term maintainability.

Responsibilities:

• Build and evolve AI enabled applications from initial concept through production
• Design system architecture covering data flow, model integration, backend services, and deployment
• Develop and review clean, maintainable code, including code created with AI assistance that you fully understand
• Establish and reinforce sensible engineering practices around source control, testing, evaluation, and operations
• Collaborate with the business partners to turn business workflows into workable technical designs
• Monitor and support live applications, diagnose issues, and deliver improvements quickly
• Assess and recommend AI models, tools, and platforms based on fit and practicality

Requirements:

• 3+ years of professional software development experience with production systems
• Proven experience using LLMs or AI APIs in applied, real world scenarios
• Proficient Python skills and familiarity with modern backend frameworks (e.g., FastAPI, Flask) and common AI libraries
• Experience working directly with business stakeholders understanding requirements
• Comfort taking responsibility for the full lifecycle of an application
• Ability to balance technical quality with business priorities
• Clear communication skills and confidence engaging with both technical and non technical partners
• Practical experience using AI development tools while maintaining full code ownership
