Role Overview

As Team Lead – Vendor & Contracts, you will own the end‑to‑end delivery of our vendor‑management and contract‑automation platform. You’ll blend hands‑on software engineering with people leadership to:

  • Accelerate AI‑driven product development – design, build, and ship high‑impact features that leverage machine learning and natural‑language processing.
  • Elevate team performance – mentor, coach, and grow a multidisciplinary team of engineers, QA specialists, and product owners.
  • Champion best practices – enforce robust architecture, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and secure coding standards.
  • Foster collaboration – act as the bridge between engineering, product, legal, and business stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and shared ownership of outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership • Write production‑grade code and conduct peer reviews.
• Define architecture and roadmap for AI‑enabled contract analytics.
• Drive adoption of modern frameworks (e.g., Python, Node.js, React) and cloud services (Azure/AWS).
People Management • Lead a team of 5‑8 engineers, providing regular feedback, performance reviews, and career development plans.
• Conduct sprint planning, stand‑ups, retrospectives, and ensure agile best practices.
• Recruit top talent and build a diverse, inclusive team culture.
Product Delivery • Translate business requirements into technical specifications.
• Prioritize backlog items with product owners, balancing technical debt and feature velocity.
• Ensure timely releases with high quality and compliance to security standards.
Stakeholder Collaboration • Partner with legal, procurement, and compliance teams to understand domain nuances.
• Communicate progress, risks, and decisions to senior leadership.
• Represent the team in cross‑functional initiatives and external tech forums.
Continuous Improvement • Champion a growth mindset: encourage learning, hackathons, and knowledge‑sharing sessions.
• Implement metrics (lead time, MTTR, code coverage) to drive data‑informed improvements.

Required Qualifications

Area Minimum Requirements
Experience • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• 1+ year in a formal people‑management or team‑lead role.
Technical Skills • Proficiency in at least one backend language (Python, Java, C#, Node.js).
• Strong front‑end experience (React, Angular, or Vue).
• Hands‑on experience with AI/ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, spaCy) and building data pipelines.
• Deep understanding of RESTful APIs, micro‑services, and cloud platforms (Azure/AWS/GCP).
Agile & DevOps • Proven track record delivering software in Scrum/Kanban environments.
• Experience with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins).
Communication • Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to convey complex technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.
Leadership • Demonstrated ability to motivate teams, resolve conflicts, and foster a collaborative environment.
Domain Knowledge (Preferred) • Familiarity with contract lifecycle management, vendor risk assessment, or procurement processes.
