What you'll do:

• AI ENGINEERING WITH END-TO-END RESPONSIBILITY You technically implement the defined AI target image – from model selection through training and deployment to stable operation. You develop AI and machine learning models and select suitable model architectures (classical ML models, deep learning, large language models, small language models). You train, validate and fine-tune models and continuously optimize them in terms of accuracy, robustness and performance.
• RESPONSIBLE FOR DEPLOYMENT & OPERATION You package and operate models, agents and AI-based applications in productive environments. This includes monitoring model and agent performance, automated retraining, and ensuring stable, maintainable operation.
• INTEGRATE AI INTO PRODUCTS & PROCESSES You integrate AI solutions via APIs or microservices into existing software solutions and business processes. You develop Generative AI use cases such as RAG systems, chatbots or copilot integrations and work closely with software development and IT teams.
• INNOVATION & TECHNOLOGY SCOUTING You analyze new frameworks, models and tools, evaluate them in terms of benefits, scalability and security, and implement prototypes and proof-of-concepts for new AI applications.
• ENSURE QUALITY You conduct tests, A/B comparisons and model evaluations, ensure reproducibility and document results comprehensibly. You identify bias, risks and limitations in models and actively counteract them.
• LIVE SECURITY, GOVERNANCE & COMPLIANCE You ensure that AI models are operated securely and in compliance with regulations – especially when handling sensitive data, data protection (GDPR), access policies, as well as auditability, documentation and traceability.
• BE A BRIDGE BETWEEN BUSINESS & TECHNOLOGY You work closely with business departments, translate business use cases into technical solutions and advise on feasibility, data requirements and realistic expectation of results. You coordinate closely with AI Architects, Product Owners, IT Architecture and Security.

What we're looking for:

• Several years of professional experience in AI Engineering, Machine Learning or comparable fields
• Sound experience in the development, operation and management of models, agents and AI workflows, ideally using modern agent frameworks (e.g. LangChain / LangGraph, Semantic Kernel or comparable frameworks)
• Experience in the deployment and operation of AI solutions in cloud environments, including scaling, monitoring, and cost and lifecycle management
• Know-how in handling AI or automation platforms such as n8n, Copilot Studio or comparable solutions
• Very good knowledge of API technologies and service-oriented architectures
• Good knowledge of security architectures as well as regulations and standards in the field of AI security and data protection
• Strong analytical and conceptual skills as well as a structured, process-oriented way of working
• High consulting competence, strong communication skills and enjoyment of interdisciplinary collaboration
• Sense of responsibility, quality standards and the will to make AI productively sustainable
