AI Engineer

Role Overview • The AI Engineer designs and builds intelligent systems that drive Tranzitech’s product innovation. The role is central to introducing artificial intelligence and machine learning capabilities into Research & Innovation (R&I) test projects, covering areas such as smart process automation, intelligent product features, and generative AI applications.

Principal Responsibilities and Accountabilities AI Development: • Build machine learning models and AI-powered applications for prototype testing. • Develop natural language processing (NLP) engines, recommendation systems, and automation tools. • Integrate trained AI models into web and mobile platforms.

Research and Experimentation: • Experiment with new AI techniques and assess emerging technologies. • Build and evaluate models tailored to specific business use cases. • Explore generative AI applications for both internal and external tools.

Tranzitech Research & Innovation Framework: • Build efficient data pipelines for model training and inference. • Prepare, clean, and augment datasets to ensure high-quality model outputs. • Ensure model reliability, scalability, and performance in production environments.

Requirements • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field. • 1–4 years of experience (Junior to Mid-level). • Proficiency in Python, .NET, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-learn. • Experience with NLP, API development, and model deployment. • Strong understanding of data structures and algorithms. • Strong communication and relationship management skills.

Essential Competencies and Skills: • Strong programming skills. • Solid knowledge of machine learning and AI concepts. • Data handling and data engineering capabilities. • System design and architecture skills. • Understanding of AI ethics and governance.

What Success Looks Like • At least one AI-powered feature deployed per year. • Development of production-ready, well-documented models. • Measurable business benefits resulting from AI integration.
