AI Engineer

About

We are looking for an AI Engineer with 5-10 years of professional experience in AI/Software Engineering projects, proficiency with REACT, Javascript, Python, NodeJS or GO, AWS, cloud-based services, LLMS, SQL databases, AI tools such as Cursor or Claude Code, basic DevOps practices, CI/CD, version control (Git) and strong written and verbal communication skills. You demonstrate analytical ability and have great problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain AI and machine learning applications.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to refine models, develop applications, ensure data integrity and optimize pipelines.
• Code, research, and implement solutions that solve business problems.
• Implement enterprise software for our operating companies under the guidance of the Director of Software Engineering.
• Build and maintain data ingestion and preprocessing pipelines.
• Identify relevant features and engineer new features to improve AI software performance.
• Work alongside product teams, data scientists, and software engineers to align with business requirements.
• Maintain clear documentation of data sources, architecture, and analysis steps.

Qualifications

• 5-10 years of professional experience in AI/Software Engineering projects.
• Proficiency with REACT, Javascript, Python, NodeJS or GO.
• Experience with AWS and cloud-based services, LLMS.
• Familiarity with SQL databases and AI tools such as Cursor or Claude Code.
• Knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD, and Git.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Analytical ability and strong problem-solving skills.

Requirements

Must be located in St. John's, Newfoundland, and be available to work onsite full time in the St. John's office.
