As an AI Engineer / Agentic AI Engineer (m/f/d), you will drive the use of GenAI and agent technology at LBBW. You understand business requirements and processes, identify suitable AI and agentic use cases, and implement them together with the business units into effective, productively usable AI solutions. You combine business analysis and consulting with engineering depth: you develop GenAI applications and intelligent agents based on LLMs, connect internal systems, establish guardrails, and work closely with architecture and platform teams. At the same time, you will shape the strategic further development of GenAI and Agentic AI in the bank - from use case portfolios to standards and guardrails.

Responsibilities

• Analysis of requirements, processes, and pain points, as well as consulting business units on optimal technical implementation and support until go-live
• Conception and implementation of AI applications (e.g., chatbots, assistants, RAG, document processing) based on LLMs, as well as design of agent architectures and workflows
• Connection of AI and agent solutions to internal systems and data sources, as well as development of APIs, backends, actions, tools, and MCP servers for the integration of corporate systems
• Development and optimization of system and role prompts, use of proven prompt patterns, and implementation of RAG and context strategies, including selection and configuration of models and parameters
• Setup of test and evaluation approaches, configuration of monitoring and logging, and implementation of guardrails to ensure data protection, information security, and auditability
• Close collaboration with architects, platform teams, and business units throughout the entire lifecycle, as well as participation in the strategic further development of GenAI/Agentic AI (use case portfolio, standards, guardrails)

Profile

• Completed studies in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Media Informatics, or a comparable field
• Several years of practical experience in software development and software architecture
• Very good knowledge of at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, Java, TypeScript)
• Experience with GenAI/LLM platforms, RAG, APIs, and integration of corporate systems
• Enthusiasm for GenAI and Agentic AI, pioneering spirit, and a high willingness to learn
• Analytical, structured, and at the same time experimental working style
• Ability to develop use cases together with business units and translate them into technical solutions
• Strong team orientation and communication skills
• Very good German language skills, both written and spoken
