AI Governance / AI & Data Specialist – Banking (Freelance)

Overview

We’re supporting a public-sector banking organisation in Germany on a long-term initiative to build and strengthen its AI governance capabilities.

This programme focuses on ensuring that AI systems are implemented and managed in line with evolving regulatory requirements, while being effectively integrated into an existing IT landscape.

Scope of Work

• Support the development and implementation of AI governance frameworks
• Ensure alignment with regulatory requirements including DORA and EU AI Act
• Work closely with data protection and compliance teams (e.g. GDPR)
• Contribute to the integration of AI services into existing IT and service management environments
• Support oversight, monitoring, and lifecycle management of AI systems
• Engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders across IT, risk, and business teams

Your Profile

• Experience working with AI, data, or analytics in regulated environments
• Strong understanding of governance, risk, or compliance frameworks
• Familiarity with regulatory topics such as DORA, GDPR, or the EU AI Act
• Background in banking, financial services, or public sector organisations
• Ability to operate across both technical and business-facing teams
• Fluent German language skills (essential)
