Role Overview

We are adding a high-octane, hands‑on Senior Manager for our Verizon Business Product Marketing team to lead the technical execution of our “AI‑First” internal marketing products. This is a role for a “lead builder” who thrives at the intersection of product logic and production code. You will be the engine room of the AI Acceleration team responsible for taking architectural blueprints and turning them into high‑performance, scalable AI agents and data pipelines. We aren't looking for a traditional manager who sits in meetings; we need a technical powerhouse who leads from the IDE, ensuring our AI solutions are fast, accurate, and production‑ready. In this role, you will own an AI agent for a marketing product, build the blueprint, and execute on the production of each element of the agent, continually reiterating features for improved experiences.

Responsibilities

Tactical Execution & Rapid Development

  • Translate high‑level AI roadmaps into actionable technical sprints, leading the “build squad” in the daily development of LLM‑powered features.
  • Personally develop and optimize core components of our AI stack, from complex prompt chains to custom Python‑based middleware that connects AI to our marketing engines.
  • Maintain a high bar for “ship‑ready” code, balancing the need for rapid experimentation with the necessity of stable, scalable software.

Agentic Systems & RAG Optimization

  • Lead the hands‑on implementation of multi‑agent ecosystems, ensuring seamless collaboration between AI agents performing complex marketing tasks.
  • Refine and scale RAG (Retrieval‑Augmented Generation) pipelines, focusing on optimizing vector database performance and data retrieval accuracy to minimize latency.
  • Bridge the gap between data science and product, ensuring our models have the “contextual awareness” needed to serve non‑technical marketing users effectively.

Engineering Rigor & MLOps Execution

  • Own the technical backlog for the squad, managing technical debt, model versioning, and environment stability.
  • Implement and monitor automated guardrails and “human‑in‑the‑loop” systems to ensure all AI outputs are brand‑safe and compliant with privacy standards.
  • Track and improve technical success metrics, including throughput, token cost‑efficiency, and hallucination rates.

Squad Mentorship & Integration

  • Serve as the “Lead Engineer” for the squad, providing direct mentorship through deep‑dive code reviews and hands‑on troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with MarTech and Data teams to ensure AI products integrate seamlessly with our CRM, CMS, and cloud data warehouses (BigQuery/Snowflake).

Where You’ll Be Working

In this hybrid role, you must reside within a commuting distance to one of the work locations listed on this position, and your work will include work from home and assigned office days set by your manager.

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate is a Product‑Minded Engineer who is obsessed with the “How.” You are likely a Senior or Staff Engineer who has a knack for product ownership, or a Technical PM who spends their weekends building with the latest AI frameworks. You prefer a working prototype over a polished slide deck and believe that “done is better than perfect,” provided the code is clean and the metrics are tracked.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Six or more years of hands‑on experience owning a marketing product, building and deploying features and working on enhancements to the product and features throughout the lifecycle.
  • Experience using AI tools and applications daily, either at work or in a personal capacity.
  • Experience leading engineering squads or small technical teams through successful product launches.

Preferred Qualifications (Even better if you also have)

  • Eight or more years of total experience as a marketing product owner.
  • Prior experience in Marketing Technology (MarTech) or B2B SaaS environments.
  • Experience working in Python and with frameworks like LangChain, LlamaIndex, or Haystack.
  • Mastery of the AI Stack: Deep proficiency in Python and extensive experience with frameworks like LangChain, LlamaIndex, or Haystack.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, AI, or a related technical field.
  • Experience fine‑tuning open‑source models for specific domain tasks.
  • Expertise in Vector Databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, Milvus) and optimizing high‑dimensional search.
  • Knowledge of MLOps tooling (Weights & Biases, MLflow, or LangSmith) for tracking experiment performance.
  • A GitHub portfolio or public contributions to AI/LLM open‑source projects.
