We are seeking passionate AI Platform Engineers to enhance our AI Operations (AIOps, MLOps, FMOps, LLMOps) services within our AI Platform team. You will support diverse teams across the enterprise, enabling smarter decision-making in areas such as Actuarial, Product, Underwriting, and Sales. Your expertise will be pivotal in delivering innovative and sustainable data science products that drive impactful outcomes.

This role can be hybrid or fully remote. Candidates near our office locations will work in the office three days a week, while remote employees are expected to come in as needed for business purposes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop tailored features that add value to operations beyond the core cloud platform capabilities.
- Research and implement innovative GenAI algorithms and technologies.
- Explore new services and features in AWS, Google Cloud Platform, and Azure to support GenAI and ML.
- Enhance platform functionality using expertise in AI, ML, Agentic Frameworks, and modern data technologies.
- Establish best practices in AI, ML, and data engineering across teams.
- Design and architect comprehensive solutions at a component level.
- Collaborate with Enterprise Data, Data Science, Business, Cloud Enablement, and Enterprise Architecture teams.
- Manage engineering tasks, optimize workflows, and drive execution independently.
- Mentor team members, fostering career growth and technical prowess.
- Review engineering outputs to align with project and business expectations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in building and delivering software or platform solutions for enterprises.
- Preferred programming experience in Python.
- 5+ years of experience with Terraform.
- Experience in developing libraries, frameworks, or platforms to be used by multiple teams.
- Proficient in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) with knowledge of GCP BigQuery, Cloud Functions, AI Platform, API Gateway, and GKE/Docker.
- Experience with AWS is a plus.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Automated Testing, Agile methodologies, Unit Testing, and Integration Testing tools.
- Experience in developing scalable serverless applications in cloud environments; GCP experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of distributed NoSQL databases, ETL technology, and Conversational UX/UI design.
- Familiarity with vector embedding, Hybrid/Semantic search technologies, and RAG pipeline customization is beneficial.
- Knowledge of LLM orchestration frameworks and Generative AI Guardrails is a plus.
- Solid foundation in Natural Language Processing and Deep Learning.
- Outstanding problem-solving abilities and teamwork skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Candidate must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship. The company will not support the STEM OPT I-983 Training Plan endorsement for this position.
Compensation
The annualized base pay range is based on an analysis of similar roles in the job market. Actual pay may vary based on performance and competencies. The base pay is one part of The Hartford's comprehensive compensation package, which may also include bonuses and recognition rewards. The anticipated range for this position is:
$168,400 - $252,600
