About

We're working with an early stage robotics organisation building a next generation physical AI platform. They’re making a key founding hire for an AI Research Engineer to help design and deliver the initial end‑to‑end Vision‑Language‑Action stack and core demonstrator in a highly hands-on environment.

This is a rare opportunity to join at the ground floor, with real ownership over both research direction and system design, and to help define the foundations of a physical AI platform from day one.

Responsibilities

• Designing and developing the core Vision‑Language‑Action (VLA) stack for embodied intelligence
• Building, training, and evaluating models from scratch across vision, language, and action
• Shaping the technical direction and research roadmap for the initial physical AI demonstrator
• Translating cutting-edge research into robust, real‑world systems
• Working closely with robotics and systems engineers across data, simulation, and hardware

Requirements

• Strong experience with VLA models, video‑action models, or closely related areas
• Proven ability to train and deploy advanced AI models from scratch
• Deep applied understanding of modern AI and robotics research
• Background in robotics, embodied AI, autonomous systems, or adjacent domains
