Role Overview
Senior Artificial Intelligence (AI) Engineer – AI & Emerging Technologies (AI&ET) mission
- Work closely with mission stakeholders to capture requirements, aid in structured planning, and improve processes by introducing AI/ML tooling.
- Develop tools and techniques, including fine‑tuning Large Language Models (LLM), to enhance identification and mitigation capabilities.
- Design, develop, and maintain LLM orchestration frameworks.
- Develop and optimize data for LLM consumption.
- Collaborate with systems engineers to architect and deploy networked AI tools within secure enclaves.
- Conduct performance profiling, optimization, and scalability analysis of mission systems.
- Support security assessments and Authority to Operate (ATO) processes.
Required Qualifications
- TS/SCI with polygraph security clearance.
- Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in computer science or a related STEM discipline and eight (8) years of relevant experience or:
- Doctoral degree (PhD) and four (4) years of experience, or
- Master of Science (M.S.) and six (6) years of experience, or
- Associate of Science (A.S.) and ten (10) years of experience.
- Strong proficiency with object‑oriented languages, especially Python.
- Experience with LLM integration and data engineering.
- Experience with static analyzers, Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) framework, and relational and vector databases.
- Familiarity with Agile, Git, Jira, and Confluence.
- Ability to work with systems engineers to architect and deploy networked AI tools within secure enclaves and conduct performance profiling, optimization, and scalability analysis of mission systems.
- Ability to support security assessments and Authority to Operate (ATO) processes.
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with Rust, Claude Code, Codex, and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) practices.
