Location
Hybrid – Washington, DC. Candidates within 25 miles of a DXC office are required to work on‑site 2 days per week.
Overview
The AI Solution Architect is accountable for end‑to‑end solution architecture for DXC’s AI Workbench deployed on private or hybrid infrastructure. This role designs secure, scalable AI platforms and establishes architectural guardrails across infrastructure, data pipelines, LLM/agent orchestration, integrations, and operations to meet enterprise standards and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead architecture design for Private AI + AI Workbench implementations, including compute (GPU), networking, storage, identity, and platform services.
- Define reference architectures for agentic AI patterns (agent runtime, orchestration, tool/API access, memory, and lifecycle management).
- Design Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures: ingestion, chunking, embeddings, vector databases, retrieval strategy, and evaluation approach.
- Establish security‑by‑design controls: Zero Trust principles, RBAC/ABAC, encryption in transit/at rest, secrets management, tenant segregation, and audit logging.
- Own integration design for enterprise systems (APIs, eventing, MCP‑style registries/connectors), ensuring reliability, performance, and maintainability.
- Define non‑functional requirements (availability, resiliency, DR, latency, scalability) and align with ITIL/operational processes.
- Create architecture artifacts: HLD/LLD, data flow diagrams, threat models, runbooks, and operational handover documentation.
- Guide engineering teams through design reviews, implementation choices, and technical decision logs; mentor on best practices.
- Support model/LLM selection and deployment patterns (private LLM endpoints, model gateways), ensuring governance and cost controls.
- Identify risks and dependencies early and drive mitigation plans across stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years in solution or cloud architecture with experience delivering enterprise platforms.
- Hands‑on experience with private/hybrid cloud and container platforms (Kubernetes/OpenShift).
- Strong security architecture experience (IAM, network segmentation, encryption, key management, logging/monitoring).
- Experience designing data platforms/pipelines and supporting analytics/ML workloads.
- Excellent stakeholder communication and ability to translate business needs into technical architectures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with LLM/GenAI architectures, RAG, vector databases, and evaluation techniques.
- Experience with GPU infrastructure and performance optimization for model inference.
- Familiarity with MLOps/LLMOps practices and CI/CD for AI workloads.
- Industry experience in regulated environments (public sector, healthcare, financial services, defense).

- Security engineering, threat modeling, compliance‑aligned architecture

Work Conditions
- US‑based role; remote delivery with occasional travel for onsite workshops if required.
- Collaborates with Product Owner, Scrum Master, Engineering, DevOps/DataOps, QA, and client stakeholders.
- Active DOD Secret Clearance required.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
Compensation
A reasonable estimate of the current compensation range for this position is $121,300 – $225,300. Compensation at DXC is influenced by an array of factors, including but not limited to experience, job‑related knowledge, skills, competencies, as well as contract‑specific affordability and organizational requirements.
