AI Solutions Engineer

We're looking for an AI Solutions Engineer to join a boutique AI consulting firm that builds practical, high-impact solutions for small and midsize businesses. The ideal profile is a former full stack software engineer who has evolved into a forward deployed, client-facing role and is comfortable doing both. You will sit in front of clients, understand their business problems, translate those problems into technical architectures, and build the solutions yourself. You do not hand off to another team. You design, build, deploy, and support. This is not a pure engineering role and it is not a pure consulting role. It is both. Why You'll Want to Join You will be paid in USD (bi-monthly: every 15th and 30th) Paid Time Off in accordance with company policy Observance of Holidays per company guidelines 100% remote setup so you can work wherever you're most productive Project-based engagement to start with clear path to part-time or full-time Direct client exposure from day one with real ownership over solutions you design and build What You'll Work On Client-Facing Solution Design Engage directly with small and midsize business clients to understand their workflows, pain points, and goals Translate business requirements, pitch concepts, and operational processes into clear technical architectures and implementation plans Produce system diagrams, integration maps, and technical recommendations that non-technical business owners can understand and act on Present solutions confidently and adapt communication style to match the client's level of technical fluency AI Agent and Workflow Implementation Design, build, and deploy custom AI agents and automated workflows using orchestration platforms such as Make.com, n8n, Zapier, or Lindy.ai Integrate AI capabilities into client workflows in ways that are practical, reliable, and maintainable without a large technical team to support them Assess new tools quickly, recommend the right implementation path, and build solutions that prioritize reliability over complexity Systems Integration and Custom Development Connect client applications, CRMs, ERPs, databases, and communication tools through API integrations Write and troubleshoot lightweight Python or JavaScript code to handle API calls, data transformation, business logic, and edge cases that no-code tools cannot cover Configure and manage cloud services as needed to support client deployments Deploy integrations with appropriate error handling, logging, and basic security practices so solutions stay stable after handoff Testing, Documentation, and Ongoing Support Validate solutions end to end to ensure they work reliably and handle expected failure cases before going live Produce clear technical documentation, integration notes, and handoff materials that can be supported and expanded over time Assist with ongoing maintenance, monitoring, troubleshooting, and iterative improvements for deployed workflows What You Bring Background as a full stack software engineer with a natural evolution toward client-facing, solutions-oriented work Strong proficiency in Python and JavaScript with working knowledge of SQL Hands-on experience designing and implementing AI-enabled workflows using orchestration platforms such as Make.com, n8n, Zapier, or similar tools Proven ability to connect applications via APIs and build integrations that work reliably in production Comfort translating business problems into technical solutions without needing deep theoretical guidance Excellent written and verbal communication in English, both in client-facing conversations and in technical documentation Experience working directly with clients or business stakeholders in a consulting, agency, or solutions engineering capacity Understanding of SMB business environments and what practical, low-overhead solutions look like for that market Nice to Have AI, cloud, or software certifications such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, OpenAI, or automation platform certifications Knowledge of LLMs, vector databases, and prompt engineering Familiarity with common SMB tools such as HubSpot, Salesforce, QuickBooks, or similar platforms Experience with OAuth, API tokens, environment variables, and deployment configuration basics Familiarity with lightweight databases, data mapping, and troubleshooting broken integrations Experience producing architecture diagrams or implementation plans for non-technical stakeholders How to Apply Please include: Your updated resume A short Loom video (1 to 2 minutes) introducing yourself, describing your engineering background, and walking through a client-facing or solutions engineering project you owned from discovery through deployment Only candidates who submit a Loom video will be moved to the next step of the hiring process.
