Your Role

As an integral part of our team, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Form part of Teradata's global engineering organization, responsible for driving the advancements in VantageCloud, our unified data and AI platform.
  • Engage at the intersection of cloud computing, advanced analytics, and AI‑driven automation, aiding enterprises to unify and analyze their data across varied cloud environments.
  • Address complex challenges involving scalability, performance, and intelligent automation to transform data into insights and innovation.
  • Work collaboratively across research, architecture, platform engineering, and product teams to define the next generation of enterprise AI.
  • This position reports to the AI engineering leadership team within our global engineering organization.

Who You Are

  • You have demonstrated experience in designing, developing, and deploying autonomous AI agents at scale.
  • You possess strong expertise in agent‑based architectures and runtime components tailored for modern AI/LLM systems.
  • You have hands‑on experience in implementing governance, safety, and compliance in agentic AI environments.
  • You can effectively partner with product stakeholders, architects, and platform teams to establish enterprise‑capable AI functionalities.
  • Your technical proficiencies encompass intelligent automation, generative AI, and agentic system design.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 3‑5 years of experience in software architecture, backend development, or AI infrastructure, with strong proficiency in Python and familiarity with Java, Go, and C++.
  • You bring deep expertise in agent development, LLM integration, prompt engineering, runtime systems, and AI tools.
  • Experience with MCP servers, vector databases, RAG systems, graph‑based memory, and NLP frameworks is highly advantageous.
  • You have the ability to design fundamental agentic capabilities (memory management, context handling, observability, and identity).
  • A solid understanding of distributed systems, backend services, API design, and cloud‑native deployments (AWS, Azure, GCP) is essential.
  • You are proficient with containerization, CI/CD pipelines, and scalable production infrastructures.
  • Your communication skills are excellent, complemented by good documentation practices and the ability to mentor or work collaboratively across teams.
  • You are passionate about developing safe, human‑aligned autonomous systems and extending open‑source tools for innovation.

Compensation

Pay Rate: $143,500 – $179,400 – $215,200 Annually
Compensation for the successful candidate will depend on geographic location, internal equity, experience, and job‑related skills. All permanent positions are eligible for annual incentive plans based on company performance and individual contributions.
