Sr. AIX Infrastructure (IBM Cloud) - (PowerHA / HACMP)

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 15+ years of enterprise infrastructure architecture experience.
• Deep hands-on expertise with IBM AIX (mandatory).
• Strong experience with:
  • IBM Power Systems
  • LPARs
  • HMC
  • PowerVM

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure Strategy & Architecture

• Design and recommend standalone infrastructure architectures for enterprise systems.
• Evaluate on‑premises, hybrid, and cloud-based architecture options for AIX workloads.
• Provide architecture recommendations supported by cost, risk, and feasibility analyses.

AIX & IBM Cloud Architecture

• Architect and design AIX environments for both production and disaster recovery.
• Assess the feasibility of migrating AIX DR servers to IBM Cloud.
• Define reference architectures leveraging:
  • IBM Power Systems
  • Power Virtual Server (PowerVS)
• Design and validate high-availability and disaster recovery patterns for AIX workloads.
• Address performance, security, and resiliency requirements for AIX in IBM Cloud environments.

Disaster Recovery & Resiliency

• Design robust DR strategies for AIX workloads, including:

  • IBM PowerHA / HACMP
  • Replication and backup solutions

• Optimize RTO and RPO objectives.

• Support disaster recovery migration planning, testing, and validation activities.

• Proven experience in AIX performance tuning and system design.

• Demonstrated success designing or migrating AIX workloads to IBM Cloud.

• Strong background in disaster recovery architecture and planning.

• Ability to assess and communicate trade‑offs between on‑premises, cloud, and hybrid infrastructures.

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
