American Express entered the travel agency business more than 100 years ago and today is one of the world’s largest Travel and Lifestyle Service networks. The Travel & Lifestyle Services (TLS) business provides differentiated value, extraordinary service, and unrivalled expertise to Card Members across 22 markets seeking leisure or business travel, as well as a variety of lifestyle and concierge services.
We are seeking a highly skilled Analyst – Data Analytics to join the Digital Lounge Services team. In this role, you will play a key part in developing dashboards and data-driven insights that inform lounge strategy, capacity management, personalization, and digital innovation across our global lounge network.
Overview
At American Express, data is foundational to delivering a seamless and differentiated customer experiences. As part of a fast-paced, customer-centric team, you will take a hands-on approach to analyzing data and translating insights into actionable recommendations that shape product and business strategy, enhance our offerings, and elevate the lounge experience for our Card Members.
This is a multi-dimensional role spanning several data functions, including building dashboards and analytics for Product and Business teams, partnering with Engineering on data pipelines and transformations, and helping cultivate a strong data-driven culture within the organization.
You will collaborate closely with a wide range of cross-functional partners, including Product, Business, Design, Content, Engineering, Operations, and more.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with Product teams to define KPIs, develop metrics, and build dashboards that track performance and inform data-driven decisions across lounge digital products
- Collaborate with Business teams to design scorecards and analytics that drive growth and enhance Card Member benefit utilization
- Leverage product analytics tools (e.g., Adobe Analytics, Amplitude) to track and analyze user engagement across digital experiences
- Support and enhance self-service analytics platforms by building, optimizing, and maintaining dashboards that enable lounge operations teams to monitor daily visits and capacity trends
- Communicate insights effectively and partner cross-functionally with Product, Business, and Engineering teams to influence strategy and drive continuous product improvement
- Partner with architects and engineers to support the design, development, and maintenance of scalable data pipelines and data warehouse solutions, including optimizing data transformations and integrating new data sources to ensure reliable, high-quality datasets
- Identify and explore opportunities to leverage AI and emerging technologies to enhance analytics capabilities and drive innovation
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent work experience (advanced degree preferred)
- 2+ years of experience in data analytics, data engineering, or a related analytical role in a professional environment
- 2-4 years of experience with SQL
- 2-4 years of experience with dashboard and visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI, or similar)
- Must be based in New York and able to work in a hybrid model, 3 days per week in the office.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Python or R
- Experience with product analytics tools (e.g., Adobe Analytics, Amplitude, or similar)
- Experience working with large datasets, including analyzing, interpreting, and communicating insights to stakeholders
- Experience performing deep-dive analyses and define key business metrics that inform strategy
- Familiarity with A/B testing and experimentation frameworks, including designing and analyzing experiments
- Familiarity with statistical analysis and/or predictive modeling concepts
- Familiarity with data warehouse and pipeline concepts and tools (e.g., Google Cloud Platform, BigQuery, Airflow, or similar)
- Experience working in Agile or other fast-paced development environments
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights, with a high level of attention to detail
- Interest in travel, hospitality, or airport/lounge experiences is a plus
