ABOUT THE ROLE

As an Accounting Analyst on the Global Accounting team, you will play a critical role in supporting the integrity and accuracy of revenue-related processes for the Points Business Unit (PBU). Your responsibilities will evolve over time as you develop deeper expertise in our systems, clients, and operational workflows.

We're looking for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, has a strong attention to detail, and is ready to take ownership of key accounting tasks involving receivables, partner payables, reconciliations, and partner communications.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Manage and oversee the Accounts Receivable, which includes invoice creation, deposit application, collections, AR Aging reports, analysis of balances & creation of any allowance for doubtful accounts as needed.
  • Timely preparation and review of Partner Remittance Summary and Remittances (ensuring in compliance with contractual payment terms)
  • Preparation and calculation of revenue and its direct costs and preparation of the related journal entries
  • Preparation of activities related to month-end closing, such as running and maintaining the fixed asset module, third party commission accruals, etc.
  • Responsible for the preparation & analysis of various Balance Sheet Reconciliations on a monthly basis as required.
  • Preparation of accounting memos related to revenue recognition, detailing the rationale and methodology behind revenue transactions.
  • Assist with financial close procedures for each month-end, quarter-end and year-end.
  • Ensure compliance with related SOX controls and processes, and following Internal Controls in area of responsibility.
  • Work on special projects based on departmental and company/business needs, including system implementation, upgrades, automation initiatives, and other ad-hoc requests
  • Other administrative duties as needed

YOU ARE SOMEONE WITH

  • University or college/CEGEP degree in Accounting or other related field
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel, Word and PowerPoint and Google Docs
  • Superior communication skills with the ability to work across all levels .
  • Excellent analytical skills and a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems independently and present recommendations to your supervisor.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure within tight deadlines.
  • Ability to plan, organize and prioritize numerous tasks and responsibilities while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Cooperative and service-oriented attitude.
  • Ability to take initiative to achieve a goal and objectives; be proactive.

IT WOULD BE A PLUS

  • Experience with Oracle NetSuite and FloQast is an asset.
