About
The Banque de France provides services to the economy. It assesses the financial health of companies and assigns them a rating. Over 300,000 companies are assessed each year.
This rating serves several purposes:
- To inform the banking sector by feeding a dedicated database.
- To ensure the stability of the financial system by assessing the quality of financial institutions' loan portfolios for bank refinancing.
- It is also used in calculating their prudential capital requirements.
The company services department at the Grenoble branch consists of 17 people. It is responsible for rating the 6,800 companies in the Isère region, analyzing their annual accounts and qualitative information (approximately 830 interviews with company directors are conducted each year).
In practice, the department collects annual accounts and all relevant legal information (from DGFIP, INSEE, and the Commercial Court) to perform financial analysis and assign a rating. The department thus feeds the FIBEN database - Company Banking File - managed by the Banque de France and used by the entire banking sector.
Responsibilities
- Analyze companies' financial documents to propose a reasoned rating.
- Participate in interviews with company directors to collect extra-financial and qualitative information.
- Carry out tasks to ensure the updating and quality of the database.
Qualifications
Education
- Master's degree: Accounting-Control-Audit, Economics and Finance
- Bachelor's degree: Accounting-Control-Audit, Economics and Finance
Skills
- Solid knowledge of accounting (annual accounts) and financial analysis
- Ability to integrate into a team, interpersonal skills
Qualities
- Rigor, ability to quickly acquire new knowledge
- Strong writing and synthesis skills
