The VZ Logistics Controlling team works closely with distribution centers and central logistics to optimize logistical processes from an economic and sustainability perspective. Using modern technologies, they identify potential for improvement through their in-depth data analysis and actively contribute to increasing efficiency throughout the entire logistics network. The team is responsible for the strategic analysis and preparation of logistics-specific key figures as a basis for management decisions, coordinates cross-site planning, and develops innovative reporting tools. Furthermore, strategic work on data structures is becoming increasingly important. We are looking for you as a new Analytics Engineer Logistics for our dedicated and collegial team, who will further expand the data competence with your expertise and complete the team.

Responsibilities

• Data Analysis & Reporting: You will analyze logistical data, create meaningful reports, and thereby support the optimization of warehouse and logistics processes.
• Data Architecture & Data Integration: You will actively contribute to the design and further development of our data architecture. You will deal with interfaces, ETL/ELT processes, and ensure reliable data flows from WMS, ERP, and other systems.
• Data Models: You will increasingly design and maintain data models for reporting and analysis purposes - ideally with an understanding of modeling methods such as Star Schema or Data Vault.
• Data Quality & Documentation: You will define and control data quality standards, ensure data governance, and document data structures in an understandable way.
• Collaboration & Innovation: In exchange with IT, specialist departments, and partners, you will contribute to a scalable data basis. You will support the introduction of new BI, Data Warehouse, and Cloud technologies and actively promote data-driven and AI-supported further development within the team.

Qualifications

• Education & Experience: You ideally have successfully completed a degree in (Business) Informatics, Logistics, Data Science, or a comparable field, as well as relevant professional experience in a data-driven environment.
• Technical Skills: Solid knowledge of SQL, BI tools (e.g., Power BI, StrategyOne), and ideally initial practical experience with data architectures (DWH, Lakehouse, Cloud platforms like Snowflake) as well as ETL/ELT processes.
• Technical Understanding: You have already worked with data modeling methods and have basic knowledge of modern data architectures.
• Personality: You are characterized by independent, structured, and analytical thinking as well as strong communication skills. You enjoy designing data-based processes and working in a team to create added value together.
