Responsibilities

Your main tasks include implementing new features for Android apps according to given designs and requirements. You will work on the further development of existing applications and optimize their performance and user-friendliness. The integration of APIs and external services is also part of your tasks, as is fixing bugs and conducting tests. You will implement UI components with Kotlin and XML or Jetpack Compose and ensure compatibility with different Android versions and devices.

In addition to development, you will support the technical documentation of app components. You will help analyze and optimize app performance and contribute to improving code quality. Occasionally, you will assist in the conception of new features and contribute your ideas. You will participate in regular team meetings and code reviews. If necessary, you will help prepare app releases and test on different devices.

Requirements

You are studying Computer Science, Media Informatics, or a comparable degree program. Basic knowledge of Android development with Java or Kotlin is required. Initial experience with Android Studio and the Android SDK is necessary. A basic understanding of UI/UX design principles on mobile devices is desirable. Knowledge of version control with Git is expected. Ideally, you have already implemented your own app projects or worked on university projects.

You have a good understanding of developing user-friendly mobile applications. Your quick comprehension allows you to quickly familiarize yourself with existing codebases. You work independently and reliably, but are also a team player. Your problem-solving skills help you effectively overcome technical challenges. You are willing to continuously learn and engage with new Android technologies. An eye for detail and a feel for good app design are advantageous. Good German and English skills complete your profile.

Working Hours

16-20 hours per week during the semester, up to 40 hours during semester breaks, flexible scheduling by arrangement.
